Adults don't usually notice anything odd about our firstborn. But we notice. The first time I brought up my concern with a pediatrician, Max was 4 months old. My concerns were dismissed. Eventually things became worse. The arrival of our second child, Julia, made Max's differences impossible to ignore.
We're still in the process of having him evaluated. We've made mistakes along the way.
The way he relates to his world is odd and quirky and wonderful. We're not looking to fix him. We're just trying to make things a little easier.
